Susan Keller

I am a woman living amongst a bunch of dudes – my husband of two decades (!!), my three sons, my dog, and a few varmints (lizards, toad, fish … y’know, life with boys).  I am a woman who enjoys good books, good coffee, good music, regular doses of sunset splendor at the beach, bike riding (so long as no hills are involved), waterskiing (so long as the air is warm and the water is smooth), and ROADTRIPPING with my dudes (so long as I’m not the driver).

I am a woman who wholeheartedly believes Life is Beautiful.  Yes, I know the world can be a dark place, but I do assert that Beauty is always present and that searching for, finding, and appreciating Beauty is a worthy endeavor.  I believe you, your family, your home, and your lifestyle are full of Beauty.

I shoot wide and close and love to wrap a “landscape” (be it home or the great outdoors) artfully around people. I’m passionate about documenting a time and place, about observing & capturing minute, intimate details, about telling a story … without necessarily using words.

I would be honored to photographically document your story.  To help you remember always what “now” looked and felt like.  In fact, it’s my sole goal and desire to create with you a collection of images that compiled together documents your family’s unique personality, quirks, interests, talents, and love.   Because Life is Beautiful.

Long exposures of the night sky

Next time you’re in the countryside at night do yourself a favour: look up. If it’s clear and conditions are right you’ll see a seemingly infinite number of stars twinkling like diamonds on a sheet of black velvet. As a visual pleasure it’s hard to […]

Dealing with Contrast

Contrast is usually at its highest when a scene is backlit. In this image there wasn’t much that could be done to lighten the shadows. I exposed so that the highlights weren’t too badly burnt out and didn’t worry too much about the shadows. Contrast […]
